Avatars are playable characters that are free to create and customize on our app. They can then be minted on-chain for a fee to unlock their full benefits. Once an Avatar is minted, its unique combination of traits becomes exclusively yours forever.
Avatars have an unlimited supply and thus are inflationary. However, the mechanism by which new Avatars are minted on-chain will only be open for a limited time and on a seasonal basis. Even though Avatars are inflationary now, weapons and armor are scarce and finite, and there are plans to introduce deflationary mechanics at a later date.
Owning an Avatar has many benefits, such as:
Game Access: While Tales of Aesor will be free to play, the best gameplay experience is attained by owning 1 or more Avatars.
Silver: Minted Avatars generate silver daily based on their gear score and other factors such as total holdings.
Land: Land NFTs can be purchased with Silver. As Avatars generate Silver, Avatars can act as a means to acquire land.
Token Airdrop: Gen 0 Avatars will receive a percentage of the total token Airdrop at TGE.
On-Chain Reputation: Earn weapons and armor participating in or winning community events and equip them to your Avatar to show your achievements.
While waiting for the launch of Tales of Aesor, players are encouraged to begin min/maxing their Avatars by equipping gear and ensuring they have the highest gear score possible. Remember, the higher the gear score, the more silver is generated and the more land a player can afford.
